What is Nutritional Therapy?

The relationship between diet and health is widely recognised among health professionals worldwide. A good diet has the power to enhance cognitive function, sports performance and help fight infections, a bad diet has the power to lower energy, cause digestive issues, skin conditions, inflammation, high blood pressure, diabetes and disease.

Nutritional therapy focusses on using diet and lifestyle changes to bring the body back into balance and restore health and vitality.

As a Nutritional Therapist, I am trained to understand the biochemistry of the human body and the role in which specific nutrients have on many functions in the body. I have extensive knowledge about pathologies (causes of ill health) and how different conditions can impact your health and your ability to absorb certain nutrients or enhance your requirements for them.

Nutritional therapy focusses on using diet and lifestyle changes to bring the body back into balance and restore health and vitality.

Using a functional medicine and naturopathic approach, I look to identify nutritional imbalances and determine the root causes of your symptoms or health concerns. This approach looks at many factors that contribute to health, including diet, lifestyle environment, family history, and health history.

I will then work with you to create a personalised nutrition plan that is bespoke to you.  Nutritional therapy isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ approach, everything will be tailored to suit your lifestyle, goals and health history. The recommendations I give will be practical, achievable and based upon the latest scientific research.

My aim is to educate and inspire you, providing you with the tools and knowledge to take control of your health and reach your goals.

Nutritional therapy isn’t about a “quick-fix”, it is about making realistic and achievable changes to your diet and lifestyle which you can implement into your life long-term.
