Simple Green Juice
Recipe
Shop bought juices are usually high in sugar and hidden preservatives, not what you want when you're trying to be healthy. Homemade juices are the way forward and are a great way to boost your nutrient intake.
This juice is simple and refreshing and perfect to have in the morning to hydrate the body for the day ahead. Fresh juices are best consumed as soon after making as possible to ensure you get all the nutrients.
Ingredients
-
2 sticks of celery
-
1/2 cucumber
-
1/2 lemon
-
2 large handfuls of kale
Method

-
Wash all veg
-
Slice/peel skin of lemon
-
Feed veg through the juice; I like to start with the kale as the other veggies help push the juice from the kale through the juicer into a jug.
-
Give a good stir, pour into a glass, enjoy!

This smoothie is the ultimate "skin food". This great combo is booming with anti-aging antioxidants and nutrients including, vitamin A, vitamin K, iron, zinc, folate, magnesium and omega 3. To make a smoothie "healthy" you need a good balance of fruits, veggies, fats and protein. Smoothies only containing fruit will send your blood sugar levels soaring so always remember to chuck in some extra ingredients to keep your blood sugar stable. It's a great way to get the veggies in (and the kids too ;)
